As a geological consultant with over thirty years of experience in oil and gas exploration, I want to give my endorsement to the Galaxy Partners Drilling Fund No. 1.
I know Don Shepherd personally, and additionally, Don and I have a number of mutual friends and business associates who are also professional oil and gas explorationists. From my own personal experience, I can tell you that Don has represented himself and his abilities, and his experience fairly and accurately on this website.
I also want to say that what Don is proposing to do with the Galaxy Partners Drilling Fund No. 1 is completely valid from a conceptual standpoint. The idea for a drilling fund like this is to pool funds from several investors into one drilling fund that is then managed by a professional oil and gas explorationist. After getting the investors together, the manager of the fund then begins looking at opportunities for participation as non-operator in ready-to-drill prospects that have been generated and assembled by other professional exploration companies. The fund manager (being Stardust Energy, Inc. in this case) then puts these deals through their own evaluation process and selects five or more of these prospects in which to participate. By spreading the drilling funds’ capitol into five or more deals, the chances that the investment will be successful are much greater than if all of the funds were allocated into only one deal. Drilling funds like these have been around for forever. But, I can tell you through my experience that not many have terms as favorable to the investors as this one does. And in my opinion, these favorable terms provide a very good incentive for investors to consider investing in this particular drilling fund.
Another good reason to participate is that I have agreed to provide geological consulting services for this drilling fund. These services will include deal evaluation and a detailed geological review of prospects being considered for participation by the Partnership. Additionally, I will utilize my considerable network of oil and gas exploration professional contacts in order to bring in quality opportunities for the drilling fund to invest in. My fees for these consulting services will be billed on an hourly basis and paid out of the 12% management fee already included in the Partnership Agreement. There will be no additional cost to you, the investor, for my services.
Besides my thirty-plus years of experience, my other qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Geology from the Colorado School of Mines. I am a licensed Professional Geoscientist, and I have been a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) since 1984. Additionally, I am a past Chairman of the Central Texas Chapter of the Society of Independent Professional Earth Scientists (S.I.P.E.S) as well as a former member of the National Board of Directors of the same organization.
