Jon’s forte has always been the close-in step-out, field-extension type of prospects. Over the years, Jon has been responsible for the drilling of successful wells of this nature in the Bend Conglomerate in Stonewall and King Counties, Texas, the Strawn Sand in Irion and McCulloch Counties, Texas, the Canyon Sand in Irion and Stonewall Counties, Texas, the Clearfork Sand in Irion County, Texas, the Ellenburger in Nolan County, Texas, and the Yates Sand in Terry County, Texas.
Although Jon was responsible for generating the ideas that lead to these successful wells, they were leased and drilled by many different client companies. As a result of all of this work spanning more than thirty years, Jon has developed an extensive network of fellow explorationists with which he has worked closely. Jon is also a past Chairman of the Central Texas Chapter of the Society of Independent Professional Earth Scientists (S.I.P.E.S) as well as a former member of the National Board of Directors of the same organization. He has been a licensed Professional Geoscientist and a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) since 1984
